Business and Strategic Plan
Country Pride Dance Club was established in Red Deer, Alberta in 1991 for all of the Central Alberta community to learn and share our passion for Country Western dance. 2023 marks 32 years the club has been promoting dance in Alberta.
For 2023 we anticipate hosting more dances and workshops for our members and the public.
Over the last 32 years the club has done some amazing things, and taken its members on a wonderful journey. From teaching students how to two-step, taking a dance team to compete at a World Championship, and in 2019 have 38 dancers perform in the opening ceremonies of the 2019 Canada Winter Games, and the Canadian Final Rodeo CFR48. If you are looking to learn to dance, have some fun, and meet some great people you have come to the right place! We have weekly lessons we teach to the public that can make you feel more comfortable dancing, as well as a dance team you can become involved with that does demonstrations in the community.

Some of our members have went on to be competitors, teachers, and judges. Some have even opened their own studios. Alberta has always been a hot bed for Country Western music and dance. Our club has been fortunate to be involved with the dance community over the last 31 years to see it evolve and mature. We have access to so many wonderful dancers and teachers who love to share their passion of dance with everyone; including teaching, doing demonstrations, and competing.
Becoming involved with the club opens the doors to being involved in dancing with opportunity to attend dance festivals, and Lessons & Workshops throughout the year to further your dance knowledge and skills. We also hold social dances to practice your dancing and are open to the public! Many times we will include an introductory dance lesson to start off the evening. This is a great place to meet people, make friends and dance the night away. Information on upcoming dance festivals, events, and competitions, are available through the dance club, and we encourage and support all forms of dance in the area.
Increases in lesson attendance, workshops & dances hosted, membership & performances has kept our club busy. From being featured on the front page of the advocate ( for the Barn Dance ), to demonstrating for more seniors centers, and the opening ceremonies of the 2019 Canada Winter Games. The club is doing more in the community than ever before.
We co - host the Family Dances with the City of Red Deer, the Red Deer Arts Council, and Red Deer Culture Heritage Society, and the Red Deer Native and Friendship Society ..... involving the whole community. These dances will feature local performers, dancers, with prizes and fun for the whole family. In addition to our weekly lessons we are planning more workshops in 2020... please check our schedule.
With the dedication of its membership and executive the club continues to thrive!
Although 2022 was a challenging but optimistic year, we are rebuilding our lessons and doing more shows.
Please check back regularly to the event page for updates for 2023
We look forward to the day when we can all get together and dance....

Demonstrations
The Country Pride Dance Club “Performance Team” was created to perform demonstrations at special events, and functions in Central Alberta. This demonstration team is unique and is the only one of its kind in Western Canada. While demonstrating Country Western culture we also show what a fun activity dancing is and also feature some of the hot new dances such as swing. We can entertain and involve the entire family. Routines consist of a combination of partner dances such as Country 2-step, Waltz, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Cha-Cha, line dances and more. Looking for something different for your next event? If you would like information about demonstrations for your event please contact us.
