We teach most of these within our club or we give you the chance to attend workshops to learn them.

Two Step: The two-step by far is the most popular country dance. From the basic pattern dancers can add turns in a variety of positions to give this dance a huge variety of options. The leader determines the movements and patterns of the pair as they move around the dance floor in a counterclockwise direction.
Basic two-step consists of two quick steps, followed by two slow steps.... counts 1,2,3 5.

Polka: The polka is a fast and lively dance with lots of bounce. Not only danced to traditional Oktoberfest type music, but more modern fast-paced high energy country music. It moves counterclockwise around the dance floor. This one is a good work-out!
Basic Polka consists of two triple steps.... counts 1&2 3&4.

Jive: Also a fast paced dance made popular in the 60's that can be danced to lots of popular classic rock/rockabilly music. A dance that does not progress around the floor, but is danced in one spot. You rotate in a circle as you perform a variety of moves. Very popular as a starter swing dance.
Basic steps consist of 2 steps one to each side, followed by a rock-step.... counts 1, 2 3/4.

Six-Step: The six-step is a partner dance that is danced to slower two-step music. A very popular rhythm, slower music allows you to catch your breath as you dance to a lot of chart topping country songs.There are many moves that can be done as the pair dance around the floor in a counterclockwise direction.
Basic step consists of two sets of triple steps followed by two slow steps. counts 1&2 3&4 5,6.

Waltz: The romantic graceful dance. The waltz moves counter clock wise around the dance floor. Big movement with a ballroom feel, waltz is a beautiful dance again with a variety of turns and positions gives waltz a feel unique compared to all other dances.

Cha-Cha: The cha-cha is a partner dance danced generally on the spot to popular many popular country songs. In general Cha cha is danced on the spot and does not progress around the floor.The dance is danced generally without any rise and fall. Hip action gives the dance a more Latin feel.
Basic steps consist of “one-two-cha-cha-cha” counts .....1,2 3&4 5,6 7&8.

Nightclub: Nightclub is a smooth partner dance that evokes a romantic feeling. Again this dance is generally on the spot, but does travel. Again a variety of moves gives this dance a beautiful feel, and a more relaxed hold is used than in most typical dances.
Basic steps consist of “quick, quick, slow” counts ....1,2 4.
East Coast Swing: is a lively and uninhibited partner dance again done on the spot. Tends to involve lots of under-arm turns and may include some fun lifts or tricks. This dance is the easiest to learn after the basic jive and is done to slower music the regular jive.

West Coast Swing: is the hot swing dance today The dance allows for both partners to improvise steps while dancing together, evoking a variety of emotions. It is danced on the spot and does not progress around the floor. It can be danced to slower music or faster paced music.

Pony Swing: The only true country dance as all other dances evolved from other art forms. Pony is done on the spot to music similar to polka music. Rotating as you do turns, this dance is extreme high energy, and danced typically keeping one leg straight, and using the other to bounce up and down.
Basic steps consist of one step up and down..... counts are &1, &1.

Hustle: The hustle is a unique partner dance that has some features in common with swing dance. Danced again on the spot with clockwise movements. Made popular in the 70's with the era of disco this dance works well with a lot currently popular club music.
